Jerry I am on the same side as you on the issue of John
Galt’s strike. I understand why he is on strike but I think his methods are
ridiculous as well. I am also worried about the millions of innocent lives at
stake. I feel that John does not completely understand the consequences of his
strike. However, I do not think John Galt is a true egoist. If John Galt was a
complete egoist, then he would not have saved the other industrialists or gave
them a save haven. He clearly cares about other people because he loves Dagny
and cares about her well being.
Jerry
I did not originally notice the spotlight change from Dagny to John Galt, but I
notice what you mean. However, I think the spotlight change is just momentarily.
The same thing happened with Hank Rearden. Dagny is the protagonist and the
spotlight comes back to her when she returns to the outside world. I am also
interested to see whether or not John Galt achieves his goal. For some reason,
I have a gut feeling that he will not achieve it.
