Chris Winters' Comment on Wesley Groves' Reaction

I couldn’t agree more with your statements. Rand surprisingly was spot on with how America functions and how the elitists in our nation think. She also provides the argument that we Americans make these generalizations that something minute can be extremely dangerous, such as your example with global warming and when the science community attacks Rearden. Honesty we can see the effects of Global warming but, I feel as though we might be blowing it a bit out of proportions leading us to make these unrealistic hypotheses of what our future might be. On same basis the science community really gave no basis as to why Rearden’s metal was dysfunctional and dangerous. As well, I enjoyed how I could constantly draw correlations between today’s America and the one presented in the novel. Mainly the one aspect that I found interesting was that of the successful business characters in the novel. All of them had the same basis of idealizations. They all wanted to continue to expand their wealth and they didn’t care how it happened, but, that in the end they were richer than before. Sadly in todays society that is relatively the same. All these business elites for the most part just want to continue to expand their wealth and the path they take doesn’t affect them. This selfish nature though can be what separate’s the successful from the poor.
