Zane, I like the way you thought of the Mulligan valley. I
agree with your view, all these industrialists are being complete cowards!
Also, in golf a “mulligan” is an extra stroke to make up for a mistake, that
isn’t counted as part of the player’s score. This is exactly what you are
saying—a utopia where these industrialists can live perfectly as basically
another attempt at having a strong economy, that isn’t counted in the real
world. You asked what is going to happen to the outside world if all the industrialists
are taken out. However, it’s already happening. The looters are taking over,
everyone is getting screwed and losing jobs and money, and the whole economy is
going down the drain. Finally, I agree with you about the rumors of John Galt.
When I was first reading, I assumed they were just exaggerations of some small
thing that a man named John Galt did. At one point I thought they were just
made up stories to teach morals to people. Although now you made me realize
that in fact they were all true. Although you have a point in your observation
that John Galt did not finish the motor to prevent the looters from using it, I
believe that taking all the industrialists to Mulligan Valley was in fact
worse. He basically created a new motor (like you said), but much more
powerful. If anyone were to find out about Mulligan Valley, there would be very
large repercussions.
