Considering that this book is
drawing to a close, there are still elements of the plot that I feel haven’t
been revealed. I found it interesting that after what seemed to be an eternity
of searching, Dagny finally finds out the truth about the disappearance and
abandonment of the Twentieth Century Motor Company. I found it a bit funny
though how this information was revealed to her by a hobo who illegally got
into her train. Honestly it blew my mind trying to piece together how the hobo
knew what had exactly happened. But, as
I continued to read I found out that Jeff Allen (the hobo), is one of the individuals
who started the phrase “who is John Galt?” Apparently, Allen explained that
once one of the original owners passed away, one of the new motor company
owners imputed some controversial type of business plan.
I was confused as to what the
implemented principles embodied, but I had the feeling it had communist basics
to it. The principles they instituted in the motor company I felt seemed a bit
too controlling. Their structure basically decided what the peoples needs were,
even if they didn’t know their needs and fulfilled them in some way. This caused
for things in their company to fail as time progressed leading for those ideals
to be abandoned. Hopefully as I continue to read I can find out exactly how
they continued to expand their company and create such amazing technology. As
well, I want to learn more about the knowledge that Jeff Allen has of John
Galt.
