Meaghan Sylver chapters 9-10 pgs 237-313

What I find most pressing in these chapters is the “new” relationship between Hank Rearden and Dagny Taggart. I use quotation marks because in no way are the feelings new, simply the actions. This relationship is to me the most intriguing of all so far in the novel due to the fact that it goes beyond just words. Dagny and Rearden are able to not only talk about how they feel and influence each other, but they are also able to understand one another. Feeling the same way about many topics, like work and the public, help them to feel like they are always in the same situation. They can look across a room at each other and in a second simply understand how the other person feels and why they feel this way.
This relationship seems to me as it will be one that will last because of the understanding they have between each other. Words are superfluous in their relationship most of the times because they truly recognize what they have to offer each other.
Another aspect of this relationship that I like is the fact that they are able to motivate each other. They are both aware of their greatness and remain humble, wanted themselves to push even further to greater discoveries. In my eyes, this relationship could only lead to great things and the growth of already tremendous minds.
