This section of Atlas Shrugged has been the most interesting
section so far. I think I enjoyed it the most because it had so much “business”
in it. By business I mean the bartering and buying and selling between Dagny,
Rearden, Fransisco, and others. I find these interactions very exciting and I
like the way that Rand helps the understand how each business conversation is,
how each character goes about his or her business and how each character
interacts with others. On another note, Hank confessing his “want” of Dagny was
expected. However, I found it interesting that the author never uses the word
love when speaking of the relationship between Dagny and Hank. I think that
eventually love will occur and I believe that finishing the John Galt line will
spur the actual love between Dagny and Rearden. Finally, I cannot wait to find
out what is going to happen with the real John Galt, since Fransisco said “he
will come” when finding out about the name of Dagny’s line. By the way Fransisco
almost warned Dagny of the repercussions of naming her line after John Galt
makes me wonder what this man did and if he is crazy or something. Hopefully he
does come to add another character to the story because there are still 800
pages left in the book and the same characters for that long could get boring. Also,
the introduction of the famed John Galt would bring an interesting twist to the
book.
